Game Details

A vertical top-down upwardsscrolling spaceship shoot'em-up game with a gradius-like pick-up system (you pick up tokens that yield various upgrades to your ship that you may choose, speed costs one token, shot costs 2, side-shot cost 3 etc.) The game is very intense even if the enemies are rather simple in design. Toaplan made a game in 1993 called V-5 which plays much like Slap Fight. Slap Fight was released by the name Alcon in the US.

***** by Giskard. Comment: "Together with R-type, Slap Fight is the best shoot 'em up ever in my opinion. It has everything. The weapons, the ship designs, the backdrops and the music are all so clear and wonderfully presented. There is variety and polish and everything in the game is neat and tidy. Enemies and their bullets are precise and uncluttered (an essential aspect for a game of this type). The game-play is at times both comfortable and palm-sweating. This for me is the pinnacle of shoot 'em ups. " (2002-08-14 06:07:53Z)

*** by Dave__Dunmall. Comment: "Very enjoyable upwards scrolling shoot-em-up. One of the first arcade games to feature a well known cheat where, on your first credit, if you do not touch any buttons or the joystick & wait for death accordingly, you will be kitted out with a maximum arsenal of weapons on your next go." Note: The information and links on this page might get moved around quite a bit before things get all sorted out. I'm just going to start putting up all kinds of information that I've had archived away, so please pardon the mess! :) Identifying Unknown Board Sets Back in 1994, Rick Schieve wrote an article about how to identify unknown boards. This article gives some quick tips on how to figure out what the pinouts are for an unknown PCB. The text is moderately technical so if you're not sure what R
