Game Details

A 2 player side-scrolling shooting game. The player has to pilot a Sopwith Camel WWI prop aircraft and battle his way through 5 levels of levels filled with dangerous prehistoric creatures. At the end of each level (sometimes, the mid of a level), the player has to defeat a gigintic boss creature in order to proceed to the next level.

The game uses a unique power-up system, where the player has to shoot eggs to obtain the sub-weapon. After acquiring the sub-weapon, it is possible to rotate it and position it at 8 different positions surrounding the player aircraft. Each different position gives different firing patterns.

The graphics and sounds were state-of-the-art when it was released in 1989, the PCB is powered by a single 68000. The sound system is one of the Yamaha YM3XXX series variation. Infact, this board, along with similar aged SNK board like Sky Souldier, is the fore-runner of what later became the Neo-Geo MVS system.

A sequel to this game was released in September 1999 by SNK, but it was developed by Yumekobo.

**** by jabbasoft. Comment: "this game is great on a real cabinet, seems harder under mame/non arcade-stick. good 2 player mutli-direction scroller allowing excellent teamwork with 8-position weapons. a bit frustrating when you lose all your powerups and a bucketload of credits." 2002-06-10 18:05:06Z
