RS232 null modem cable for the Sony LD player (terminal mode):

    LD player PCB P3

pin 7 (GND) TO pin 1 (GND)
pin 2 (TxD) TO pin 3 (RxD)
pin 3 (RxD) TO pin 2 (TxD)

   pin 4 (RTS) ] [ pin 4 (RTS)
   pin 5 (CTS) ] [ pin 5 (CTS)

   pin 6 (DSR) ] [ pin 6 (DSR)
   pin20 (DTR) ] [ pin20 (DTR)

Connect the pins with ] to each other.
eg. connect pins 4 and 5 of the connector, on the LD end, together.

Note: On the original harness by Leland, pin 1 was used for GND on
the laser disc end of the RS232 cable. Pin 1 is not connected to
anything inside the LD player, even though it is labelled as ground
in the Sony user manual. If pin 1 is used, the PCB will not be able
to control the laser disc player unless the audio cables are connected
between the LD player and the PCB. Use pin 7, on the LD end of the
RS232 connector, for ground.

To place the game in Service Mode:

While pressing the service button press the "Player 1" button
then release both buttons.
