**** by jschlarb. Comment: "Just bought a really nice Gravitar here in GA; cabinet colors are nice & bright, and the original WG monitor still works great. The original owner was reluctant to sell it, and now I know why! I'm a pinball nut, but I'm really glad to have Gravitar as one of 2 vids in my collection (the other is Galaga). Very challenging & addictive!! " (2005-05-07 18:59:06Z)

* by GraviStar. Comment: "I spent many, many hours in high school playing this game (including skipping a class or three). Despite what the site review says, this was not a difficult game to play, but a challenging one! The challenge made it a love-it-or-hate it game. It was certainly worth the time and memories." (2005-04-18 23:32:32Z)

***** by Squarefish_x2. Comment: "My favorite game. I discovered it a couple years ago through Mame -- I loved it so much I bought a full size upright. My high score is 3,652,700 (trying to beat Ray Muellers 4.7 million point game from Dec. 83) I set up a Gravitar web site: http://www.cooganphoto.com/gravitar/ Check it out if you want more info on the best game." (2003-12-04 19:22:12Z)

***** by GravitarMan. Comment: "I was one of the handful of people that completed the entire game in Invisible mode/Reverse gravity. It took a long time and many quarters and I wasted too much time in College doing it but it was a blast to get to the end of the game on one quarter. My heart was racing and I was sweating a ton but it was one of my fondest memories of the 80's. I never found a game that gave me such satisfaction as Gravitar." (2003-04-06 18:50:41Z)

***** by GravMaster. Comment: "Best game of all time. There can't be more than a handful of people around the world that made it through all the invisible planets. Played it for 12 hours straight one day in my youth. " (2003-01-26 03:00:57Z)

Gravitar Control Panel in a Space Duel Cabinet
Submitted by John Lee (jhlee@hac2arpa.hac.com) The following describes how to connect an Atari Gravitar control panel to the Atari Space Duel cabinet harness. Both the Gravitor control panel and game PCB are virtual drop-in substitutes into the Space Duel cabinet. However, while the Gravitar panel has a 12-pin Molex-type connector, Space Duel uses a 24-pin AMP-type connector. Fortunately, the Space Duel control panel signals are a superset of Gravitar's. In my own conversion, I made a small

Programming the Atari XY Vector Generator
The information in this document is not guaranteed to be accurate, use at your own risk. The Atari Analogue Vector Generator (or AVG) is the circuitry used to draw lines on the special XY monitors of some games from the late seventies and early eighties. These include Asteroids, Battlezone, Tempest, Gravitar and Star Wars, all of which used a slightly different AVG as the games evolved. The AVG is a small computer in its own right, it has its own ROM, RAM, instruction set and stack for subro

Early Atari documentation list
Submitted by Gregg Woodcock (woodcock@bnr.ca) Here is a pretty complete list of documentation for Atari's early arcade video games. Note that "TM" stands for "Technical Manual" and "DP" stands for "Drawing Package [supplement]" which was later renamed to "SP" which stands for "Supplement Package". I am not sure what "CO" stands for but the "C" could be for "Correction" because most of the CO documents were errata or addendums to the manuals. In addition, most Atari games had "ST" documents which w

Adapter to plug Asteroids Deluxe board into Asteroids harness
Inspired from the recent posting on converting a Gravitar/Black Widow to a Tempest/Major Havoc, I've decided to document a similar conversion to and from Asteroids Deluxe. This is a simpler conversion than the aforementioned Tempest hackery, but you should still read everything first and be sure you understand what you're doing before proceeding. Although I can't guarantee 24-hour delivery, I'll also try to respond to any questions you may have... Credit goes to Rick Schieve and Steve Ozdemir for letting
