Game Details

First game to use a combination of laserdisc video backgrounds with computer generated overlaid targets, enemies, shots, etc.

M.A.C.H. III is actually two games: First, a fighter game where the video is shot from the nose of a plane flying through canyons and over various landscapes; second, a bombing game where the video is shot straight down from a plane flying over factories, plants, naval yards, and airports.

M.A.C.H. III uses the same main CPU & sound boards as Q*Bert, but adds a video mixer board and a Pioneer PR-8210 laserdisc player for the laserdisc video.

Mylstar came out with a conversion kit for M.A.C.H. III to make it an Us Vs Them. The kit is a new marquee, cabinent graphics, laserdisc & ROMS; it uses the same electronics, laserdisc player, and controls as M.A.C.H III

M.A.C.H III was available as both an upright and a sit-down/cockpit game.

This article gives some quick tips on how to figure out what the pinouts are for an unknown PCB. The text is moderately technical so if you're not sure what R
