Breakout-style game with a futuristic twist. Sequel to Arkanoid.

Hardware Platform: New Zealand Story Hardware

Game Details

In this game, the player and his Vaus faced a new series of Arkanoid boards. This game had several upgrades to the features added to the original. There were now gold bricks in some puzzles that were indestructible by normal means, but not necessary to continue to the next level.

There were also a number of new power-up capsules added. These included creating a black invincible ball that ripped through all bricks (including gold), opening exits to the next level, or shrinking the ship to half its size in exchange for doubling all points earned while in effect. Flashing "Special" capsules could possibly create 16 invincible balls, which usually ripped through the whole board in half a second. The effects of the special capsule were random.

Also unique to this Arkanoid was that there were exits to the right and left after each level, each of which took you to a different board. That menat that there were two available boards per level, and you would choose which one to play.

This article gives some quick tips on how to figure out what the pinouts are for an unknown PCB. The text is moderately technical so if you're not sure what R
