The NBA Jam concept gets a complete overhaul with NBA Hangtime. An all-new
graphics engine, new moves like spins, alley-oops, double dunks join
updated rosters, new secret codes, and a create-a-player option. The AI is
better than that of Jam--sometimes to the point of frustration, as it
cheats wildly to make up for large loss margins--and the graphics are
dramatically improved. The game is JAMMA compatible and was available in
April 1996 as both an upgrade kit for Jam machines and as a dedicated
unit. Its upgrade-only sequel, NBA Maximum Hangtime, updated the rosters
and squashed a few bugs.
makes "Hangtime" look like two words, but it's really
just one.
