Rainbow Islands (レインボーアイランド)

The sequel of the Taito hit "Bubble Bobble." Full name: Rainbow Islands: The Story of Bubble Bobble 2

In this sequel to the arcade hit, "Bubble Bobble," you control Bub and Bob (transformed back to humans after "Bubble Bobble") as they explore ten levels of cute-yet-evil baddies. Instead of blowing bubbles, Bub and Bob now shoot rainbows at their foes. They can also ride rainbows to get to the goal. Every fourth stage a huge enemy will try to defeat them. In every world, try to collect seven different-colored diamonds to get an extra life. Extra lives are also awarded at 100,000 and 1,000,000 points.

Making special appearances in this game are characters from other popular Taito titles: Doh from "Arkanoid" (All of level 5 is dedicated to that game!), The spaceships from "Darius," and the creatures from "The FairyLand Story."

This is the second of four arcade games in the Bubble Bobble series (followed by Bubble Symphony and Bubble Memories). It also has two non-arcade direct sequels: Parasol Stars and Bubble Bobble Part 2.
