Game Details
The Street Fighter EX series combines systems from Street Fighter II and Alpha with unique mechanics. It plays primarily as a 2D fighter but allows movement along a shifting 3D plane. Special moves and Super Combos resemble those from previous entries, but the super meter is divided into three segments rather than levels, a distinction of this spin-off.
Guard Breaks bypass blocking, stunning the opponent if they connect, and require one segment of the super meter. Unlike Alpha, where guard breaks create only openings, EX guard breaks function more like a brief stun.
Canceling lets players follow a normal or special move with another special move. Super Canceling extends this to chaining Super Combos together, enabling high-damage sequences.
